The GO 300 is not a trivial device to dismantle, and I do not recommend this
unless you are happy to void your warranty or even break it! In this case, my
GO was already broken as the result of a car crash, so I had nothing to lose!
Tools required:
very fine screwdrivers and torx bits - CK do some good ones*
a pie tin for storing different screw types, each cell numbered
patience, calmness and courage!
*I bought a CK T4896P Multi-blade screwdriver - a hollow handle and case containing seven double-ended bits (the handle clamps them in place), giving
"1.5, 2, 3 and 4mm Slotted and PH 000, 00, 0 and Torx 05, 06, 07, 08." - ideal for dismantling PDAs, mobile phones and tightening spectables!
As you progress with dismantling the GO, record the location of screws which
are removed, and which cell they are stored in, so that as the GO is reassembled
you will know exactly which screw to use.
Taking photographs with a digital camera is also useful so when you reassemble
you can remember what it looked like before!
